The long wait is over! Lexus has shown us their newest car, the Lexus GX 2024. It's a fancy four-wheel drive and it's a big deal because it's also an update to the Land Cruiser Prado in Australia.

In this blog, we'll talk about all the new stuff about the Lexus GX 2024. It's super cool and exciting, so get ready to learn about this amazing car! Read till the end and you’ll surely plan to buy the brand new Lexus soon!

Exterior

The first impression of the All-New Lexus GX 2024 is impressive. Its design combines toughness and style, making it visually appealing. The front of the vehicle has sleek headlights and a well-designed grille, without excessive chrome like the LX.

The Luxury SUV stands out with its larger size compared to the Prado, thanks to sharing its wheelbase with the LX. Despite being slightly shorter than the LX by 96 millimeters, it has more compact front and rear overhangs. The GX is built on the TNGA F platform, which is also used for the Land Cruiser and LX, aiming to bring together different off-road features for excellent performance.

Powertrain

In the US, the Lexus GX has typically been available with a regular petrol engine. However, the new GX goes beyond that by introducing a turbocharged petrol V6 engine.

This remarkable 3.4-liter twin-turbo engine produces an exciting 260 kilowatts of power and 650 newton meters of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This upgrade not only improves the vehicle's performance but also contributes to better fuel efficiency.

Off-Road Capability

The off-road capabilities of the Lexus GX are truly impressive. Its design showcases purposeful features like flared wheel arches, rock sliders, and black accents. All of this gives it a rugged and tough look.

With 33-inch tires, crawl control, full-time four-wheel drive, multi-terrain select, and a torsion limited-slip center differential, the GX is well-equipped to conquer any type of terrain.

Moreover, the Over Trial version offers an impressive range of off-road controls, including the option to lock the rear differential and a center differential lock.

Interior and Technology

As you enter the cabin of the All-New Lexus GX 2024, you'll immediately notice a combination of luxury and practicality. The Luxury SUV features a 12.3-inch infotainment system with backlit LCD displays, making it easy to use.

Physical controls are also available for important functions, providing a smooth user experience. Inside, there are seven seats, and if you prefer added comfort, you can opt for captain's chairs.

The longer wheelbase not only increases cabin space but also ensures better legroom in the third row. However, it would be even more practical if the cargo space had sliding rails to optimize its usability.

Future Prospects

While the All-New Lexus GX is undeniably exciting, it also gives us a glimpse into what we can expect from the Land Cruiser Prado. Considering their historical similarities and shared powertrains, it's reasonable to speculate that the Prado will follow a similar path.

The prospect of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo petrol V6 and even a diesel V6, akin to the Land Cruiser 300 series, is highly intriguing for off-road enthusiasts. This upcoming release has the potential to make a significant impact in the market and rejuvenate the Prado's capabilities. It will undoubtedly give competitors like Mitsubishi, Isuzu, and Ford much to think about.
